I always cherished the dream of studying Law in one of the most prestigious universities in the UK. Having obtained excellent grades for my A level, I applied for various universities via UCAS. Unfortunately, even though I received offers from most of them, none were offering scholarships and their fees were far too high. I was very disappointed at the fact that my opportunity of studying in the UK was now very narrow. Yet, owing to OVEC, my dreams were about to come true.
In fact, it was only when I met one of the representatives of Brunel International at the Mauritius International Education Fair organised by the OVEC at the MCB Head Office, that I realised that studying Law at Brunel University would be a wonderful experience I do not want to miss. Apart from the fact that it is very good academically, Brunel seemed to be one of the rare universities enabling students to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds, hence enriching their social experiences. Moreover, it is campus-based in London and is nearby the airport. Also, most importantly, Brunel was offering scholarships to international students.
Eventually, I applied to Brunel University, obtained my scholarship and flew to the UK. I am now nearly reaching the end of my first year and I can say, without a doubt, that my journey at Brunel has been a wonderful experience so far. The lectures are of very high standard, with a library open up till late at night, and very helpful lecturers. Furthermore, Brunel has its very own security officers, and nightclubs on-campus, which present a secured and amazing night-life atmosphere. Most of the basic services we need, ranging from food shopping to banking, including sports amenities, are located on the very site. Undeniably, these facilities make university life even more easy and exciting, especially for international students like me.
All this would not have been possible without the help of OVEC. I thus convey my sincere gratitude to Dr.Chitson and the whole team of OVEC as they not only gave me great support through-out my application process, but also did the necessary paper works all free of costs.
